Introduction:
Hands-on treatment forms the foundation of therapy and include myofascial release work, muscle energy techniques, scar tissue manipulation, joint mobilisations and neural glides. Our hands-on approach extends to optimum breathing training, keep-fit exercise and posture rehabilitation work.
For those presenting with pelvic floor dysfunction, internal manual therapy techniques can be used to help relax the pelvic floor muscles, including trigger point release, myofascial stretches, scar massage and desensitization therapy; as well as improve pelvic floor muscle awareness and facilitate improved pelvic floor muscle activation. We can also offer guidance on perineal massage in preparation for birth or following gynaecological surgery.
